Nintendo sold over 700,000 consoles during the last week, 400,000 of them Wii U units and the remaining 300,000 sales of the six year-old Wii.

In an interview with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, CNET reports that total US hardware sales reached more than 1.2 million units, including the Wii U, Wii, and handheld 3DS and DS consoles.
